Robert McCann - Managing Partner


Mr. McCann graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Wagner College and began his investment Banking Career at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette shortly after graduation. Mr. McCann relocated to South Florida and moved into the Public Finance sector serving as the Treasurer for the City of West Palm Beach. He raised over $100 million for the city in sewer, water, parking, and General Obligation Bonds while managing a fixed income portfolio of $250 million and acting as the custodian of the retirement funds for the firefighters, police, and general employees’ pension funds. Bob went on to raise over $750 million in several different series of Tax Anticipation Notes and General Obligation Bonds to finance the building of new schools in the county.

 

Returning back to the private sector in 1991, Mr. McCann assisted in raising in excess of $200 million for private and public companies, often working with them in multiple areas such as mergers and acquisitions and capital restructuring as the Managing Partner at Continuum Capital Partners, Inc. until 2003.Mr. McCann founded Maxim TEP in January 2004.The company raised a total of $75 million and grew from a start up to approximately $500 million in oil and gas assets and pipeline infrastructure. The company sold its interest in its South Belridge property in Kern County, California for $89 million in cash to Mercuria Energy Group, Ltd. and merged with Conquest Petroleum, a public corporation.

 

In June of 2009, Mr. McCann founded Talon Energy Corporation, which merged with Gulfstar Energy Corporation in 2010. Mr. McCann was the chairman and CEO of the combined companies, which acquired 20 miles of pipeline infrastructure and 10,000 leased acres in The Illinois Basin. The company also acquired a section of prime Niobrara acreage in Weld County Colorado. Mr. McCann financed $2 million in equity and put together a Revolving Senior Credit Facility for mergers and acquisitions with Wright Capital prior to leaving in December 2011.

 

Steve Warner - Partner

 

Mr. Warner received a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and brings over 35 years of experience as a Wall Street investment banker and venture capitalist to Safe Harbor Equity Advisors, LLC.

 

Mr. Warner was a co-founder of Crossbow Ventures a venture capital management company in West Palm Beach, Florida. Steve served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and co-founder of Merrill Lynch Venture Capital, Inc. which, under his leadership, grew to more than $250 million in venture funds under management.

 

In addition, Steve served on the internal investment committees for the selection of venture capital, leveraged buyout, research and development, real estate, oil & gas and equipment leasing investments for Merrill Lynch executives.  Steve has also served as a U.S. Government consultant to evaluate the American Enterprise Funds, established by the U.S. Congress to promote the development of free enterprise and entrepreneurship in Eastern Europe.

 

More recently, Mr. Warner has served on numerous Boards of Directors for both public and private companies.  Public boards include Dyadic International, Inc., Gulfstar Energy Corporation, and Health Enhancement Products, Inc.  Private boards have included Chairman of Maxim TEP, Director of Navitas Land & Minerals Corporation, Search Automotive Technologies, LLC and UCT Coatings Inc.
